Grab your hot cross buns… hide those chocolate eggs… make some memories this Easter on the Isle of Wight. The Easter bunny isn’t the only one who is busy this time of year. The Isle of Wight welcomes you to join some very special events during the bank holidays and school break. We hope that the sunshine can join us too!

 

 

 

Easter Fun at Tapnell Farm Park

 

Hop into an egg-citing Easter adventure at Tapnell Farm Park, from 29th March to 12th April, for an all-weather, fun-filled experience offering a barn-full of Farm Park Fun alongside special Easter activities that will delight visitors of all ages.

Embark on an Easter Farm Quest, where young explorers can search high and low for hidden Easter eggs around the Farm Park with letters inside, to unscramble an egg-cellent puzzle for a sweet prize!

Interact and engage with a variety of animals with daily activities from Trotter Training and Guinea Pig and Rabbit Fishing to Ferret Racing, Goat Feeding, Wallaby and Meerkat Talks and Meet and Greets!

Plus, unleash your competitive spirit with the Tapnell Olympics, where fun and laughter are guaranteed for the whole family.

Add a splash of colour to your day with Pottery Painting Workshops (small fee applies).

 

Alice’s Easter Wonderland 

Dive headfirst into the enchanting world of Alice’s Easter Wonderland at Tapnell Farm Park, from 2nd – 4th and 9th – 11th April, for an all-weather adventure beyond imagination.

Join in the madness and prepare to be dazzled by ‘six impossible things before breakfast’, including Potions with Alice (small fee applies), Circus Games with the White Rabbit, and the Queen of Heart’s Easter Party. Plus, explore the twists and turns of the Mad Hatter’s Maze – it’s bound to be a world of wonder!  Don’t be late for this very important date!

With so much to see and do, every moment at Tapnell Farm Park promises an unforgettable adventure. Whether you’re exploring Alice’s Easter Wonderland or enjoying the daily animal activities, there’s something for everyone.

Tapnell Farm Park is an all-weather family attraction open daily from 10am – 5pm.  Alice’s Easter Wonderland event is open 11am – 3pm on 2nd – 4th and 9th – 11th April and is included in the Farm Park admission or Summer Season Pass.

Join Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary for Easter fun on the farm

 

The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is free of charge to enter and is nestled in 55 acres of picturesque Isle of Wight countryside, which is home to over 100 much loved donkeys and Shetland ponies. They are open 7 days a week, with free parking, families and dogs welcome and walking paths on and around the farm. They are a great place to visit to celebrate the arrival of spring – this year you may even spot some very cute lambs!

 

This Easter you can take part in a fun Easter Trail to take you around the farm – there’s a small prize at the end when you’ve completed the trail.

 

Bookable activities this Easter holidays:

Donkey Experiences: Spend 2 hours with one of our amazing farm team, getting a behind the scenes experience of the work they do and helping us carry out thier day-to-day tasks. These might include making and handing out feeds, mucking out and grooming.

Donkey Grooming: A lovely opportunity to give the donkeys a really good groom and a cuddle.

Pamper a donkey: A fun and educational experience, you’ll learn all about the history of the donkeys, how they came to the sanctuary and how they care for their well-being. You’ll then give them a pamper and lead them back to their paddock or pen.

Pamper a Shetland pony package: One for the pony lovers! Get an insight into how they care for their ponies and spend time with them, giving them a good pamper before leading them back to their paddock or pen.

Meet the donkeys: A free guided tour. Thier free 30 minute tours are happening daily this Easter holidays. Learn all about they care for their animals at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary and find out how they came to live with there.

Easter Madagascar Madness at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary

29th March – 14th April, 10am – 5pm daily

 

Looking for a wild and wonderful way to spend some time this Easter Holiday? Look no further than the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary’s Easter Madagascar Madness celebration as you explore the native home of their five species of Madagascan lemur!

 

Embark on an adventure through the Sanctuary with their interactive activity trail. Get your creative juices flowing with Easter Egg rock painting, perfect for all ages. Walk through the incredible primate domes with their expert guides on hand and learn all about lemur conservation at their evening talk. Have an ‘Eggcelent’ time at Monkey Haven this Easter

 

Swing into Spring at the Island’s award-winning Monkey Haven – a special place to relax, have fun and meet some amazing rescued animals.

 

Easter is an ‘Eggcelent’ time to visit the sanctuary as there’s lots of fun things to do, including a cracking egg hunt and Easter crafts in the lodge.  There’s a free activity booklet and stamper trail for the kids and don’t forget to download their fun free App – follow trails, collect virtual bananas and see behind the scenes using the secret hot spots!

Catch the award-winning keeper talks and animal feeds throughout the day to learn about the many rescued animals in their care. The sanctuary is home to over nineteen different primate species, including some very noisy gibbons! It’s not just monkeys you’ll see – visit the reptiles and birds of prey, meet the meerkat mob, and you could even get the chance to handle a snake or get up close to Ketch and Oakley at the daily owl talks.

There’s free Wifi, two kids’ play areas, a lovely gift shop and tea room where tasty treats are served throughout the day. The Haven has full accessibility and free parking – and tickets are valid for a free return trip within 7 days!

The Great Railway Easter Hunt

29th March – 12th April

 

Okay you ‘Chocolate Detectives’ it’s time to make like Sherlock and visit the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for their Great Railway Easter Hunt for all things chocolatey!

 

Make some amazing, amusing family memories together as you search for the giant eggs hidden around their entire attraction and solve the clues to claim your chocolate. It is so ‘Great’ there will be a hunt on every day throughout the Easter holidays from the 29th March to 12 April. If you’re visiting us on Easter Sunday, help your little ones to make their own Easter bonnet before your visit ready for judging in our parade at 13:15. Daily falconry flying display at 11:40 and 13:40.

Top off your day with a springtime ride through the Island’s picturesque countryside. Look out of the windows to see ancient woodlands, rolling fields of green, pretty bluebells and more. It’s the perfect Easter treat.

Easter Adventure Quest, Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne

23rd March – 14th April

 

Join English Heritage for a cracking adventure quest at either Carisbrooke Castle or Osborne this Easter holiday. Hunt for clues in the grounds, track down the Easter eggs and get rewarded with a tasty chocolate treat.

 

You can take on the quest every day of the school holidays, and it costs just £2 to take part. This is for each child, whether you’re a member or not, and it’s on top of the ticket price.
