The Isle of Wight welcomes you to join some very special events during the bank holidays and school break. We hope that the sunshine can join us too!
Join Sandown Carnival on Saturday 19th April 2025 as they light up the sky with a cracking firework display, launched from the end of Sandown Pier at 8.30pm! Want a great spot to egg-sperience the display? Head to Sandown Esplanade and be in the front row of the display!
Entry is free, but donations are of course gratefully appreciated and enable them to put on events like this for free.

Easter Adventure Quest at Carisbrooke Castle | 5th – 27th April
Join English Heritage for an adventure quest at Carisbrooke Castle this Easter holiday. Crack the clues hidden around the grounds and enjoy a delicious chocolate reward!
You can take on the quest every day of the school holidays, and it costs just £2 to take part. This is for each child, whether you’re a member or not, and it’s on top of the ticket price. There’s no need to book the quest, you can pay when you arrive at the site.

Wild Easter Eggventure at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary
Wildheart AnimalSanctuary have an eggs-citing range of activities and events taking place throughout the Easter Holiday, from Saturday 5th to Monday 21st April, 10am to 5pm. Earn yourself a sweet treat by completing the Wild Easter Eggventure trail, visit their henna artist to get your own temporary body art*, or come and meet their Sanctuary’s very own Easter bunnies, Harper and Smokey!
While you’re there, don’t forget to listen to the daily Animal Talks and learn more about the rescued animals. There’s lots more going on at the Sanctuary too, and they are open every day from 10am to 5pm during the Easter Holiday!

The Great Railway Egg Hunt
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is hosting ‘The Great Railway Easter Hunt’ from Sunday April 6th to Monday April 21st 2025. This family-friendly event invites visitors to embark on a treasure hunt across the railway’s Havenstreet station, solving clues to find hidden giant eggs and earn chocolate rewards.
If you are visiting us over the Easter weekend, help your little ones to make their own Easter bonnet before your visit ready for judging in our parade at 13:30.
Top off your day with a springtime ride through the Island’s picturesque countryside. Look out of the windows to see ancient woodlands, rolling fields of green, pretty bluebells and more. It is the perfect Easter treat.
