If golden sandy beaches and a traditional British seafront scene is your style then make sure you make tracks to head to Sandown on the south-eastern coast of the Isle of Wight.
Sandown is renowned for its holiday destination with the wonderful views of the English Channel and the white cliffs of Culver.
The seaside town has a number of attractions which include the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary (formally known as the Isle of Wight/Sandown Zoo) which has webcams of their Lions and Lynxes which can be view on our website here.
Other attractions include a purpose-built Dinosaur Isle Museum as well as the popular Sandown Pier.
In the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards in 2019, Sandown won the ‘Beach of the Year’ which they say is a “traditional bucket and spade beach on the east coast of the island with miles of golden sand, pier and eclectic seafront – and just a short walk to peace, fossil-rich cliffs and stunning coastal wildlife.”.
