The Island made for Instagram

THE INSTAGRAMMABLE ISLAND

If you’re looking for a holiday packed full of photo opportunities and moments to mark with a hashtag, then head for the Isle of Wight! No filter necessary…

Sun, sea and sand

With more sunshine than anywhere else in the UK (fact) and the Island’s unique micro-climate, it’s the perfect break for sun worshippers. Our beautiful beaches make stunning photos in their own right, or the ideal backdrop for glamorous selfies. When the light fades, make sure to capture the moment when the sun sinks into the sea along the horizon. Who needs Ibiza when you’ve got the Wight Island?

As seen on TV – live like a celeb

The Island is no stranger to the big screen, providing great locations for TV and cinema. Dame Judi Dench played Queen Victoria here (twice) and Take That and One Direction’s Liam Payne have shot music videos on our beaches. We’ve welcomed generations of rock stars to our festivals – why not join us for a rock and roll weekend? Keep an eye out for a celebrity sighting too! Kate Moss, Benedict Cumberpatch, Robert Pattinson and Jude Law have all been spotted on holiday breaks on the Island.

Inspirational landscapes

The Isle of Wight is a photographer’s paradise. The instantly recognisable Needles rocks and the multicoloured sands at Alum Bay will brighten up your social media profile with some iconic images. Get out on the water for another perspective, or go higher for a cliff walk or a stroll in the countryside. The Isle of Wight is beautiful all year round so whether it’s summer sun, a crisp winter break or the stunning colours of spring and autumn, you’ll have plenty of stunning shots.

Go wild!

Get up close to some amazing animals at a range of wildlife attractions on the Island. You can take llamas for a stroll, or observe native wildlife from a distance at one of our nature reserves. Keep an eye out for our rare red squirrels – a protected species and a common sight in our forests and parks.

Foodie photography

Eating out on the Isle of Wight provides plenty of great content for your feed! Your meal might be too good to share but you’ll definitely want to share the photos. With award winning restaurants, top notch local produce and some stunning locations for fine dining or classic pub grub you’ll want to pick up your camera before you reach for your knife and fork. And who doesn’t love a photo of an ice cream by the seaside?

Family fun and making memories

The Island has something for everyone and is full of things to do for all the family. Book your stay, with family or friends, and leave with happy memories and some stunning snapshots, for your social media or your family album. Bring your four-legged friend too. Everybody clicks “like” on a photo of a dog on a beach!
