Easter Events

Grab your hot cross buns… hide those chocolate eggs… make some memories this Easter on the Isle of Wight. The Easter bunny isn’t the only one who is busy this time of year. The Isle of Wight welcomes you to join some very special events during the bank holidays and school break. We hope that the sunshine can join us too!

 

 

 

 

EASTER ACTIVITIES AT WEST WIGHT SPORTS AND COMMUNITY CENTRE

Dates: 30th March – 12th April

Their Easter Holiday activities 2026 are now live at West Wight Sports and Community Centre! They have an exciting fun filled programme of sessions from Monday 30th March to Sunday 12th April.

The variety of activities available:

  • Water based – Mermaid Swimming, Raft Racing, Rookie Lifesaving, Diving, Snorkelling, Intensive Swimming Lessons, Pre-Sailing, Open Swim and Fun Hour swimming sessions.
  • Other – Non-contact Boxing, Climbing, Pre-Sailing, Soft Archery, Youth Football, Indoor Olympics and Youth Pickleball.

Places are limited and we expect sessions to fill up quickly. Booking is essential. All activities can be booked now, with the exception of fun hours and open swim sessions, which will be available to book up to nine days in advance.

JOIN MONKEY HAVEN FOR SOME CRACKING EASTER FUN

Dates: 3rd – 6th April

Join Monkey Haven this Easter for a day full of family fun, creativity, and conservation! Plus you’ll meet some amazing rescue animals.

EASTER EGGS-PLORATION AT WILDHEART ANIMAL SANCTUARY

Dates: 28th March – 12th April

Join Wildheart Animal Sanctuary this Easter for an ‘eggs-citing’ day out the whole family will love!

From Saturday, 28th March to Sunday, 12th April, they are celebrating Easter with a cracking new Activity Trail* to complete as you explore our Sanctuary! On selected dates, they will also have Face Painting* available between 11am and 2pm to help you get into the Springtime spirit with a range of fun animal designs – find more details below.

While you’re here, don’t forget to visit the roar-some Adventure Playground and Mud Kitchen, where your little ones can go wild and let off some steam! And once you’ve met all of our animals, learn more about their rescue stories and unique personalities at the daily Animal Talks, led by our dedicated team of Animal Carers.

*Additional charge applies for activity trail booklet and face painting.

 

Easter Eggs-ploration Trail

Can you find our missing Easter eggs during your visit to the Sanctuary? Grab a trail booklet for just £1 at our admissions desk, note down the letters you find on each egg, and crack the code to earn yourself a prize! The first 1000 young visitors who return their trail booklet to our admissions desk will receive a ‘pawsome’ collectable tiger badge to take home.

As an extra challenge, we’ll be hiding a golden egg somewhere around our Sanctuary every day of the Easter holiday. If you can find the golden egg during your visit, bring it to our admissions desk for a special Easter treat!

Face Painting

Get into the Springtime spirit and have your very own animal makeover with their really wild face painting*! Their face painter will be visiting the Sanctuary between 11am and 2pm on the following dates: 31st March, 1st April, 2nd April, 3rd April, 6th April, 7th April, 8th April, 9th April. *Please note that an additional charge of £6 applies.

EASTER AT LUCCOMBE MANOR

Dates: 27th March – 10th April

EASTER RIDES FOR TOTS

Dates: 1st April: 13:30 – 15:00 and 3rd April: 10:30 – 12:00

Join Island Riding Centre on 1st & 3rd April for our popular Easter Egg Hunt on horseback!

Perfect for little riders aged 2–8 years. Each session lasts 20 minutes and includes lots of Easter fun!

THE GREAT RAILWAY EASTER HUNT

Dates: 29th March – 12th April

Visit the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for our Great Railway Easter Hunt!

KIDS GO FREE!

Make some amazing family memories together this Easter with a “Great” adventure at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway! From Sunday 29th March to Sunday 12th April, children can search for giant eggs hidden across our entire attraction, solving clues on their treasure map to claim a well-deserved chocolate treat.

It’s a fantastic day out for the whole family as KIDS GO FREE* on the train, allowing you to enjoy a springtime ride through the Island’s picturesque countryside to see ancient woodlands, rolling green fields, and seasonal bluebells.

Beyond the rails, there is so much to explore at Havenstreet Station. You can discover the Island’s railway history at our award-winning Train Story Discovery Centre and Museum, or browse for a memento in the Station Shop. When it’s time to refuel, relax in the Station Restaurant or grab a light bite at the Whistle Stop Café, and don’t forget to let the little ones burn off some energy in our adventure playground.

If you are joining them over the Easter weekend, the fun gets even better! Help your little ones craft a spectacular Easter bonnet at home to wear for our grand parade, with judging taking place at 13:30. It’s the perfect springtime treat for everyone.

EASTER AT TAPNELL FARM

Dates: 28th March – 12th April

From 28th March – 12th April, Tapnell Farm Park will be celebrating new beginnings (and new arrivals ). Think tiny trotters, wobbly lamb legs and the sweetest springtime chaos.

They are expecting:

  • Piglets
  • Pygmy goats & kids
  • Sheep & lambs
  • Cows & calves

Plus all your usual favourites will be here – the alpacas will be back, wallabies, miniature shetland ponies, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and Bugs & Beasties crew.

There’ll also be:

  • Easter Farm Trail
  • Animal activities (wallaby feeding, guinea pig fishing & more)
  • Easter Farm Crafts
  • A special Easter Weekend Egg Hunt

And of course, the usual Farm Park fun with all-weather play!
