Isle of Wight Attractions To Enjoy In The Spring

The Isle of Wight is known for being a brilliant destination for a ‘staycation’ and instead of getting on a plane and travelling thousands of miles to somewhere exotic, many are choosing to simply book a ferry to the island instead. One of the main things that makes the Isle of Wight such a popular family holiday destination is the many well-known tourist attractions that it boasts and there really is something for everyone on the island.

With spring just around the corner, you may be wondering what the Isle of Wight has to offer attraction-wise at this time of year and thankfully, it doesn’t disappoint. If you’re visiting the island this spring and you’re looking into the different things to do and starting to put together an itinerary, keep reading today. Below we have put together a list of some of the best Isle of Wight attractions to enjoy this spring.

Osborne House in East Cowes

It is fair to say that Osborne House is one of the most popular Isle of Wight attractions all year round, but the mass planting of daffodils around the grounds in spring, make it a must-see at this time of year. Spring is also the best time of year to see how those who work at Osborne House prune the walled garden and espalier fruit. It isn’t uncommon for big events to take place at Osborne House around Easter time too, so keep an eye out for these.

West Wight Alpacas

Spring is the perfect time of year to visit any of the amazing farms here on the island, but West Wight Alpacas is a popular choice for many. This trekking and alpaca and llama stud farm is set within 23 acres of picturesque countryside in the village of Wellow, and it is the perfect place to see a number of adorable animals. When visiting the farm, you can even walk an Alpaca or Llama and this is an amazing opportunity, one that children in particular tend to love.

Sandham Gardens

Now that the weather is a little bit warmer, you can explore the many outdoor Isle of Wight attractions too and when you’re visiting the island with your family, Sandham Gardens is a brilliant place to go. Situated on the beachfront on the northern side of Sandown, there are so many different activities here for your little ones to enjoy and lots of people are drawn to their Skynets and go-karts. You can easily spend a whole day here in the spring.

Robin Hill and Blackgang Chine

These two sister parks are perfect to visit in spring and they are popular family-friendly Isle of Wight attractions that many will return to time and time again. Robin Hill and Blackgang Chine both offer visitors a number of different things to do and you can get a joint park ticket so you can explore both of them. There are lots of different events at these parks throughout the year as well, so be sure to check what’s on when you’re visiting the island.

Walking through National Trust sites

Whilst this isn’t necessarily an Isle of Wight attraction, it is still worthwhile mentioning. There are a number of picturesque walking footpaths on the island and lots of National Trust sites to explore that are even more breathtaking in spring. With flowers like bluebells in full bloom and migrating birds arriving, you should spend some time exploring the island by foot during your stay and simply surrounding yourself in the beauty of nature and wildlife.
