Excitement is certainly building to mark a very special royal occasion - The Platinum Jubilee, which is celebrating the Queen being on the throne for 70 years as she was coronated on June 2, 1953. We are being treated to an extra bank holiday so that everyone can see this special event and enjoy the celebrations. Even a “Platinum Pudding competition” has been launched to invite members of the public to create a dessert in honour of the Queen’s 70 year reign. These type occasions can bring communities together and the Isle of Wight is looking forward to celebrating with residents and visitors. While

Frosty Fun at Tapnell Farm was an “Icy Blast”

Tapnell Farm had a treat in store for us all last weekend. The air may have been chilly, but visitors enjoyed a frosty experience with atmospheric lights, magical entertainment and a special visit from two very well known Disney friends! The blood was certainly pumping as we enjoyed an adrenalin thrill seeking rush down a wintery mountain slide - in a large donut! Fun was had by all. Aaron Isted the magician left us spellbound as he put on a spectacular show of tricks - we still don't know where he kept all of those fizzy pop bottles! Please let us know! Excitement

Riverfest 2022 to sail ahead under new stream!

Isle of Wight Riverfest was launched in 2008 by the Isle of Wight Council. The event was taken over by The Footprint Trust in 2010 and has become the biggest free community event in Newport, attracting some 4,000 people annually. Due to the Covid pandemic, the event had to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021. During this period the Trust’s main work, in promoting energy efficiency in homes and assisting Islanders in fuel poverty grew substantially. The Trust decided it was time to hand Riverfest onto another organisation, so they could focus on their core work. Following discussions with Newport Carnival
