Summer Holiday Activities at West Wight Sports and Community Centre

Every school holiday West Wight Sports and Community Centre put together a jam-packed programme of activities and the summer holidays are no different. They have a variety of sessions running from Monday 29th July to Saturday 31st August for all ages to enjoy. The land-based activities include tag rugby, youth pickleball, dance, soft archery, climbing and youth football. The water related activities include intensive swimming lessons for all abilities, kayaking, diving, pre-sailing skills, mermaid swimming, snorkelling, rookie lifesaving, fun hours and open swim sessions.   Sessions start at £4 and vary for each activity, funding is available and can be applied for

BIG Bear Ride

The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary is hugely excited to announce their BIG Bear Ride, which is being held on Sunday, 21st July. Two intrepid cyclists, Neil and Rolf, from the London Penny Farthing Club will be cycling across the Isle of Wight on their penny farthing bicycles dressed as BEARS! Yes, you heard that right!! Their endeavours are to help us raise funds for the rescue of Benji and Balu, two European Brown Bears who have spent their lives in a concrete cage at the side of a restaurant in Azerbaijan. Last week marked a momentous occasion at Blackgang Chine as the much-anticipated Blackgang Beach welcomed its first visitors, providing a delightful sneak peek to the eager children of St. George's School in anticipation of the Grand Opening. Yes, it’s the 22nd Isle of Wight Festival since 2002 when John Giddings brought the famous Festival back to the Island, but there were three original Festivals in 1968, 1969 and 1970 – therefore 25 in total! May Bank Holiday Weekend – Bouncy Barn Fun at Tapnell Farm Park

This May Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday 4th – Monday 6th May, Bouncy Barn fun is back at Tapnell Farm Park! Solent Cruises celebrates arrival of Cunard Queen Anne

Solent Cruises are proud to be celebrating the maiden arrival of the new Cunard Queen Anne cruise ship into Southampton on Saturday 27th April.   Solent Cruises will be part of the welcoming flotilla into the Solent and up Southampton water. The Cunard Queen Anne will become the 249th ship to sail under the Cunard flag and enters service this year.  It will make up a quartet of Cunard ships at sea alongside Queen Mary II, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. Second New Attraction at Blackgang Chine Revealed for 2024

Having already excited fans with the announcement of The Jolly Robin, a swinging pirate ship ride being added to the park this year, Blackgang Chine have this evening announced their second new attraction; The Blackgang Beach.
