New Attraction Swinging into Blackgang Chine for 2024
Blackgang Chine has revealed that a new attraction will be “swinging” into the park for the 2024 season, and will no doubt delight fans as it adds even more to their ride offering. Eagle eyed islanders spotted Colossus, the much-loved galleon ship from Robin Hill being transported to the mainland earlier this month, sparking fears it had been sold. However, Vectis Ventures, the parent company of Robin Hill and Blackgang Chine, confirmed it was simply going away for maintenance, and tonight’s announcement confirms that it will be returning to a new home at the Ventnor site. Entries for this year’s Sandown Sprint, sponsored by the Island Car Centre, were booked up just two weeks after opening last month. Red Funnel extends Saturday night Red Jet crossings as upgrades are made to East Cowes berth
Red Funnel will be providing additional late-night Ret Jet crossings on Saturday nights whilst the operator undertakes upgrades to its East Cowes berth. Starting on Saturday 20 January and running on all Saturdays until 16 March, the following services will be added to the Red Jet timetable: Red Jet departure from Southampton at 23:40 Red Jet departure from West Cowes at 00:15 The additions will provide foot passengers with an alternative option for travel to and from the Island while the essential works are carried out on the mooring arrangements in East Cowes.
