‘ A gift for Melody, brave, poignant, entertaining and original Guardian ****. Although best known as a respected songwriter for others, Charlie has enjoyed a multi-faceted career that includes acting, comedy improvisation, writing for Radio, and composition for T.V. And Film, as well as performing with her band. Signed to Island Records her first Nashville recorded album produced the Single ‘ Pilot of The Airwaves’ which became a bit hit in the U.S. After working for Thames T.V. Presenting the popular 70’s Children’s T.V. Show Rainbow she went on to write songs ‘ Ain’t No Doubt ‘ for Jimmy Niall, Rain, tax, inevitable, for Celine Dion and Strut, for Sheena Easton. She quickly swaps instruments and stories of a life led in the company of friends and colleagues like Eric Idle, George Harrison, and Harry Nilsson. Her 9th Album Dark Matter has been widely applauded and described as Metaphysical themes versus small dramas with humans routinely baffled by their own innerspace. A homegrown project in collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Julian Littman of Steeleye Span, and virtuoso Double bass player Gareth Huw Davies.
On Sat 27th July at The Fringe The Isle Of Wight Venue Campaign hosts Folk Rock Band Kindred Spirit, The full 5pce Band led by Elaine Samuels were described by Sean McGhea of R2 magazine as ‘One of the best-undiscovered Folk and Rock Acts doing the rounds’ Folk Rock meets Classical with a Scientific Edge’ Rachel Mann Prog magazine. A completely original take on the Folk Rock Genre. Weaving thrilling electric violin, and flute with compelling and uplifting stories.
One of London’s Premier Art Rock Guitar bands play an incendiary melodic blend of belting Rock Anthems. Uncle Rust fronted by Scotland’s lead guitar player Justin McConville a prolific songwriter, recording producing, and releasing acclaimed albums Six Years In The Desert, and the latest offering Fractured lens, after touring the U.K., Europe and Japan in varying bands. Justin is the Lead Guitarist with Cult 70’s Rock band The Heavy Metal Kids, once fronted by Rock n Roll wild man Gary Holton, and also plays with Mark Shaw of Then Jericho. The band, a Trio play Sat 27th Show with Kindred Spirit also have one of the U.K.s most in demand Bass guitar players P.J.Phillips. P.J. has been touring with The Osmonds Christmas Special Show has previously been part of Rod Stewart’s band amongst many of the biggest names in Rock History. Chris McConville is behind the drum Kit with Uncle Rust, Justin younger brother has been with the project from the beginning. Chris was part of U.K. Indy band The Bishops who released 3 albums. For fans of Clapton, Cream, Paul Weller, Iggy Pop, The Stones, Sting, and AC/DC Bon Scott era Vocals.
