Ticket to Ryde is back! Free community event on Ryde Seafront this early May Bank Holiday Weekend

After a successful run over Easter with thousands of people in attendance, Ticket to Ryde is returning again for theweekend. The event will take place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April on Ryde seafront, and is free for everyone to attend.

 

 

Organised by the Jack Up Events with the support of Ryde Town Council, the event takes place on Eastern Gardens, opposite the harbour. With a range of activities and entertainment for all ages, it’s is the perfect way to kick off the summer season.

Visitors can expect a variety of food and drink stalls, offering delicious treats from local vendors. There will also be live music and performances throughout the weekend, showcasing local talent from the Isle of Wight.

Feel-good live music will be provided by Queenie the Soul Queen, Greg Barnes Music, Bethan John, Emellia, Fusion Party Band, High School Never Ends, Stewart Woodward, Charlene Duncan, Diva-Licious, Trio Latino and many more.

On-stage proceedings start late morning with the event running until 8pm each evening. Trade stalls open from 10am each morning.

 

 

There will be a real ale bar courtesy of Island Ales, hot food freshly cooked by Island caterers including mouth-watering loaded fries, burgers and jacket potatoes, all made using locally sourced ingredients. There will also be delicious locally-produced shortbread, cheesecakes and churros. Not forgetting artisanal coffees (both hot and iced) and speciality teas, all served with a smile!

Children will have plenty of fun activities to keep them entertained, with face painting, sand bottle-filling, hair braiding. In addition, there will be a range of games and competitions, with fantastic prizes to be won.

The purpose of Ticket to Ryde is to enable Island residents to engage with culture at no cost on their doorstep whilst supporting local charities and traders. Jack Up Events’ Charity of the Year for 2023 is the MS Society Isle of Wight. The Shanklin-based charity will have a presence at each event to showcase how their various support schemes can help enhance the lives of those living with Multiple Sclerosis here on the Island, along with the many carers, family and wider networks of people who are touched by the condition.
