The Isle of Wight’s Premier 4* Hotel has reopened
Today (Tuesday 14th July 2020) The Royal Hotel, the Isle of Wight’s Premier four-star luxury hotel has reopened its doors. Although it may be a little different to the norm, guests can still expect a high-level experience and carefully crafted, locally sourced award-winning food once again. In recognition of the phenomenal service from the NHS during this exceptionally challenging time, for every booking made, The Royal will be making a donation to the NHS charities. Andrew Woodland, General Manager said;

The reopening comes with the appointment of a new Head Chef, Ben Chamberlain who joins the team with a wealth of experience from Michelin Star restaurant, Bohemia in Jersey with Shaun Rankin, as well as Alex Aitken at The Harbour Hotel Group before taking on Head Chef for three years at The Hut in Colwell Bay on the Isle of Wight. Whilst retaining The Royal’s most-loved dishes and exceptionally high standards, Ben will be enhancing, developing, and improving The Royal’s dining experience for hotel residents as well as guests for Lunch and Afternoon Tea. Ben Chamberlain said:
“I have fallen for the charm of the Isle of Wight and very much want to remain part of remain it’s ever-growing food scene and culture. The Royal Hotel’s strong reputation for outstanding food and hotel experience has always inspired me. Taking over the position as the Head Chef at The Royal feels like a natural progression and I’m excited to merge my experience to further develop the guest experience. As well as enhance the Royal’s much-loved dishes, I think it’s time to give diners a taste of something new that I trust will surprise and delight them.”
The Royal team have gained the official “We’re Good To Go” stamp, signalling that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. In addition, the hotel has developed a Royal Safe Stays guide, to reassure guests of the measures in place.
