Decorate your own Easter Tree

Decorate your own Easter Tree

You may celebrate Christmas with a decorated tree, with personal decorations and memorable keepsakes, but have you ever thought about creating an Easter tree?

You can decorate a tree for every season if you want and Easter is no exception. Easter trees have become a popular Easter decoration as of late, and rest assured, they’re not just for one use. They can be brought out year after year, with the chance to make additional decorations every spring with the family.

It might be surprising to know that Easter trees aren’t entirely new, though. Originating in Germany, the Easter tree tradition initially started here, but also became popular in Poland, Austria, and beyond. Similar to the Christmas tree, there are lots of different ways to create a beautiful Easter tree, but most of them involve some version of hanging colourful Easter eggs from branches. You could raid your local arts and crafts shop or a pound shop to get your creative juices going, so there is no need to spend big. We decorate ours with traditional eggs, pegs, wooden ornaments and sun catchers that catch the light, adding new ones year on year. Why not add some delicious treats to your tree?

Your tree could brighten your porch, kitchen or coffee table, but often these DIY-friendly Easter decorations make beautiful Easter dinner table centrepieces.

Do you own an Easter tree? If so we would love to know. Send your photo of your Easter tree to [email protected].
