A magical experience at Polar
The evening was set… the snow was falling… and Pippa, along with her friends, were ready and waiting to greet us on a magical December evening at Robin Hill.
isleofwight.com were delighted to be invited to one of the most anticipated evenings of the year – one which is firmly in our yearly calendar.
As we arrived we were met with entertaining characters straight away at the entrance, to what was going to be the most magical and breath taking evening. This really put us in the mood for what was ahead and the spectacular lighting, white trees and Christmas themed gift shop set the atmosphere beautifully for all of the family. We followed the path to begin our festive adventure…
The illuminated Walk of Wonder through the ancient woodland is an experience like no other and it definitely put us in a Christmassy mood! We worked our way down to the Lower Valley and headed through under the marble arch, leading to festive refreshments and live carol singers. After we enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate and a giant pig wrapped in blanket, POLAR Hollow was just around the corner and the highlight of our evening. There were a few surprises on the way, including some friends from Blackgang Chine! We shall not spoil the fun… why not take a look yourself!
Pippa and her friends were delighted to see us and we had a lovely time interacting and playing, while captured on camera from Robin Hill’s onsite photographer – taking away the worry of taking a perfect family photo.
Dramatic, festive music filled the woodlands as we walked back towards the popular Jungle Heights, where we found the fun-filled Treetop Snowball Fight! If you wanted to extend your experience, you can also jump aboard the Big Red Express for a magically lit tractor journey and also enjoy some festive crafts in the Decoration Workshops!
This is an event not to be missed and one that will remain in our memory for a long time coming. This will definitely have a firm place in the annual calendar and what a way to get the Christmas season started for the whole family.
