Second New Attraction at Blackgang Chine Revealed for 2024
Having already excited fans with the announcement of The Jolly Robin, a swinging pirate ship ride being added to the park this year, Blackgang Chine have this evening announced their second new attraction; The Blackgang Beach.
A giant water pillow will sit surrounded by a yellow rubber pour giving the impression of water on sand, but without the mess or need to pack a towel. Children, and grown-ups, can enjoy endless hours of play, being able to boast to friends that they can “walk on water”. The concept artwork shows extensive planting and theming, along with deck chair seating, which no doubt will be a welcome addition for parents and carers.
The newly developed area will sit on the old home of Cliffhanger, the retired rollercoaster, and is perfectly positioned to take in Blackgang’s stunning seascapes, and pull up a deck chair and indulge in a treat from iScream opposite.
Park Manager Dan White said, “It’s finally out! The team and I are thrilled that we can bring two new attractions to the park this year, and we believe it is a combination that means there is something for everyone. We know how popular The Ripple was at Robin Hill with younger children, and that it served as a great resource for those with disabilities, so it was always in the plans to develop something similar here.”
Dan confirmed that The Blackgang Beach will be the star of our Accessibility Sessions for 2024. These sessions will see exclusive use of the area for those with disabilities, with limited capacity meaning they can enjoy in a relaxed environment. Dates for those sessions will be announced once the park is open, and people are advised to subscribe to emails for the latest updates.
He continued, “Our maintenance team have done an outstanding job bringing the park up to a fantastic standard this year, and they are now focused on the install of these amazing new additions. We hope to have a confirmed opening date for everyone as soon as possible.”
Blackgang Chine reopens for the season on 23rd March, and early bird Season Pass prices of just £49 remain in place until the 24th March. For more info on opening times and prices, please visit their website.
