The Cow is one of the best places to eat on the Isle of Wight and is located near Yarmouth and Freshwater in the west of the Island. Their goal is to make beef and dairy the stars of the show, with sumptuous steaks, brilliant burgers, delicious stews, pies, roasts, seasonal salads, the finest local ice creams and specialist cheeses. The beef-inspired selection is complemented by a great selection of vegetarian dishes, and most items on the menu can be prepared gluten-free to order.
Their menu concept is simple – it’s all about the cow.
The Cow menu changes with the seasons; the lunch menu features a selection of lighter bites and sandwiches, whilst during evening service (from 6 to 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays) they offer a range of Specials alongside a range of classics. The restaurant is situated in a large Swiss barn at the heart of Tapnell Farm, with a mezzanine seating level opening up to stunning views across the West Wight, Solent and up to Tennyson Down. The restaurant bar is fully licensed, serving local ales, other alcoholic drinks, specialist coffees and teas, and other refreshments throughout the day.
