An Artists Inspiration on The Isle of Wight
Hello there, I’m Julia Tanner and I’m a Mixed Media Artist. My Husband and I moved here 2 years ago from Essex. We’d been coming to The Island for holidays for years and fell in love with the spectacular landscape and the friendly people, every time we had to go home it was such a wrench!
My art has changed considerably since moving here, everywhere I look I see a painting and when we go to Art and Craft shows our customers are always interested in what inspires my work.
In order to share the spectacular scenery, I decided to start a Vlog on YouTube to show you how the landscape influences my art. Each film will feature a different subject – such as seascapes, woodlands, bluebells – and I’m also filming in my studio and sharing tips and techniques. You can view my films here

I’m delighted to have been asked to also write some blogs for ‘IsleofWight.com’ and am looking forward to sharing some of my paintings and inspirational photography with you, I’ll be adding more as the months go by. If anyone is considering a holiday or a move here I cannot recommend the Island enough – it’s certainly changed our lives for the better!
