Red Funnel pledges red‑and‑white tribute if Saints reach FA Cup Final
Southampton ferry operator Red Funnel has pledged to give one of its iconic red funnels a stripey red‑and‑white makeover if Southampton FC book their place in the FA Cup Final this weekend.
With Saints heading to Wembley for Saturday’s semi‑final against Manchester City, backed by more than 33,350 travelling fans, the mood in the city is firmly building towards a landmark sporting moment.

Red Funnel says it’s throwing its support behind the team, promising to mark the achievement with a visible celebration should Saints make it through to the next stage.
The ferry operator has a long‑standing relationship with the Saints Foundation through its community work, and says the promise reflects that connection as well as the sense of occasion surrounding this weekend’s match.
Fran Collins, Chief Executive of Red Funnel, said: “This weekend is a big one for Southampton, and if(when!) the team gets through to the final we want to mark it in a way that feels fun, visible and right for the moment.
“Saints reaching an FA Cup Final would be a huge achievement, especially 50 years on from that famous win against Manchester United in 1976, and our promise reflects that. It’s a simple show of support if they get there, and we know plenty of people on both sides of the Solent will be hoping they do!”
If Saints secure their place in the final, the ferry operator will carry out a red‑and‑white makeover of one of its funnels, creating a bold and celebratory nod to the club’s success.
The pledge comes as Southampton FC mark 50 years since its historic FA Cup victory, with the team set to wear commemorative yellow shirts at Wembley in recognition of the milestone.
