Spirit of the Orient returns to Robin Hill this February

The Isle of Wight’s biggest Chinese New Year celebration returns to Robin Hill this February!

With a dazzling array of award-winning illuminations and entertainment, Spirit of the Orient will be bursting with light every evening from 18th – 26th February in celebration of the Year of the Tiger!

Follow the floating lanterns to the top of the ancient woodland and uncover the entrance to the Chinese New Year Show! Chase the evil spirits of the past away with this mesmerising performance of Chinese lion dances, the great dragon procession, and Water Sleeve Dancers accompanied by a unique soundscape.

Then follow the 12-metre Dragon on its journey deep into the illuminated woodland and marvel at the stunning light exhibits and large-scale inflatable installations along the way…

The tantalising scent of delicious oriental cuisine will have your taste buds tingling once you’ve made your way to The Ponds. Choose from a selection of noodle and rice dishes accompanied with spring rolls, prawn crackers and warming hot drinks, topped off with giant marshmallows over the open fire.

For those planning a romantic evening with that special someone, treat yourselves to a bottle of bubbly under the bows of the great Marble Arch before making your way to the BRAND-NEW Heart of a Tiger Light Show! Wander through the giant bamboo to the cascading bridge and soak in the tale of the tiger zodiac through stunning projections, smoke, and lasers in this brand-new immersive light show.

Follow the path and discover the Panda Sanctuary, home to life-sized pandas, Blossom and Ping. Symbolising peace and friendship, these cheeky characters will be up to all sorts of mischief!

Before the evening draws to a close, make sure to tie your hopes and dreams to the branches of the Wishing Tree to welcome good fortune for the year ahead.

Welcome the prosperity of the new year with the fusion of sounds, vibrant colours, illuminations, and oriental flavours at Spirit of the Orient, book your experience here now.
