Located at the top of Shanklin Old Village, Keats Cottage is a boutique b&b & restaurant offering a unique poetry and well-being experience. The house was named after John Keats, an English Romantic poet who stayed at the then-named Eglatine Cottage in the summer of 1819 and wrote some of his poems at this very property. His poetry, as well as Blake’s, Shelley’s, Byron’s and Tennyson’s after whom further rooms are named, is readily available at Keats Cottage. Steeped in history and with parts of the building over 400 years old, Keats Cottage has been lovingly refurbished. All the rooms are equipped with modern amenities and we offer crisp linen, fluffy towels and luxurious toiletries. We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you can enjoy a traditional English breakfast consisting of organic ingredients sourced from nearby farms as well as home-made bread & jams, delicious omelettes, creamy porridge or vitamin-packed fruit smoothies to name just a few options! David and Ewa having fallen in love with this old world charm and the generosity of the Islanders decided to make Keats Cottage their home and open it up to families and history enthusiasts alike. We now look forward to welcoming you and showing you the magic of the place and to offering you an unforgettable and relaxing holiday on the Isle of Wight. For those of you from further afield, we are happy to converse in English, German & Polish. They have five en-suite rooms, three on the 1st floor and two on the 2nd floor. The Keats Cottage Guest House is child-friendly.
