Brighstone is a village and civil parish on the Isle of Wight, 6 miles southwest of Newport on the B3399 road. With a family run local village shop, Brightstone offers scenic and relaxing walks, including easy access to Freshwater, The Needles and Alum Bay, famed for it’s coloured sands and chair lift. If you travel further southwards and it takes you to Blackgang Chine, Niton and Ventnor.
Located in Brighstone is a long (5 miles) stretch of gently curving sand and shingle beach. The stretch of coastline is relatively undeveloped although there is a campsite and holiday park near the village. Brighstone Bay is also a good spot for finding fossils.
