Let’s Party One Last Time
Dear Jack Up Partygoers,
it is with heavy hearts that we announce this year’s Jack Up Summer Party will be our last for now and that we have decided to take a break on our festival journey. However, fear not! Everything is in place to ensure that 2024 will be a fitting celebration of 10 incredible years, please join us if you possibly can!
We never imagined that what was originally intended to be a one-off celebration of the 1980’s back in 2013, would capture the hearts of so many and we would like to thank all of our loyal attendees for coming on this trip down memory lane with us, which has seen many twists, turns and adaptations along the way.
We now find ourselves operating in a very different times to when Jack Up started a decade ago. Whilst we’ve worked hard to readjust to navigate the choppy post-pandemic waters and expanded the variety of events we offer throughout the year, the festival landscape has become particularly challenging, especially on the Isle of Wight where the market is now completely oversaturated. So if you’ve enjoyed Jack Up or are thinking of supporting us or any homegrown independent event or festival this year, now more than ever is the time to do so.
We can’t believe this will be our tenth event – it is an amazing achievement for such a tiny team and now our adventures are leading us in different directions.
This decision, though difficult, feels right as we embrace new opportunities, which we’re thrilled to say will include many more exciting outdoor events at our glamping site, Retro Staycations in Ryde, along with the various theatre shows and tours we’re currently working on, all of which will continue to embrace the spirit of Jack Up by celebrating the good times.
Looking back, we are overwhelmed with pride and joy when we think of how many happy memories have been made throughout the years for so many families. This year we have even more attractions for children.
You, our incredible audience and the many kind volunteers, Island businesses, charities and traders, along with our media and travel partners have been the heart and soul of this little festival.
While this news may bring disappointment, we wanted to share it with you now so that we can all come together to celebrate the biggest feel-good hits across the decades on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
