Brightbulb’s Mince Pie Marathon Returns!
Island web and design studio, Brightbulb Design, has today launched the return of the Mince Pie Marathon. The event, now in its fourth year helps raise money for Island charity, The Wight Brainy Bunch. Over the past 3 years that the event has been held, it has helped to raise almost £20,000 towards helping those families on the Island suffering with brain tumours.
Brightbulb Managing Director, Matt Jeffery commented,
“Last year we were in the middle of moving to new, larger premises as a business which made it impossible for us to hold the event at the same time. People had contacted us to ask when it was going to run, and we felt terrible that we could not make it work. Now we are all settled in and able to hold the event once again to raise some much-needed funds for the Wight Brainy Bunch charity. So, this year we hope businesses and members of the public will join us in making it the biggest Mince Pie Extravaganza of all time.”
This year, Isle of Wight Tomatoes are joining forces with the Brightbulb team as the main sponsor of the event. Taking on the challenge of delivering thousands of mince pies rather than tomatoes to residents across the Island.
Isle of Wight Tomatoes Managing Director, Paul Thomas stated,
“We have been proud entrants in the Mince Pie Marathon since its inception and last year we even helped to make a few deliveries to the mainland in our Isle of Wight Tomatoes vans. This year we thought we would go one better and sponsor the event as a whole and we are looking forward to raising a good amount for the Wight Brainy Bunch who do some incredible work for families across the Island. The Island have such a supportive community for events such as this and we know they will be pleased to see it’s return.”
Businesses and members of the public can take part. All you need to do is purchase some mince pies. Simply log on to www.mincepiemarathon.co.uk and choose how many boxes of mince pies you want delivered and the team will take care of the rest. The day of the Mince Pie delivery will be the 13th of December and you can opt just to donate without receiving mince pies if you wish. Each mince pie costs £1 sold in boxes of 6 and every penny is donated to the Wight Brainy Bunch charity.
