Royal Isle of Wight County Show

Historic county show on the Isle of Wight

Get ready for a field full of fun at The Royal Isle of Wight County Show. It’s 37 acres of entertainment – from adorable animals to exciting events and hands-on activities.

Since 1833 the show has been an opportunity for the agricultural community to come together and showcase their talents, produce and passion for what they do. Over the years the event has expanded to feature a full slice of Island life, packed full of fun and entertainment.

Family entertainment

Have a go at leading a goat, handling a calf or pig, and walking an alpaca. Bring your pooch and enter the Fun Dog Show – classes include best rescue dog, best puppy under 12 months, waggiest tail and dog most like its owner. And if you missed it last year then make sure you catch The Sheep Show. If you’ve never seen sheep dancing before, then you’re in for a laugh – it’s brilliant fun!

Main Ring

A packed line-up featuring Farming Through the Ages, Great Steam Tug of War, a vintage tractor parade and Shetland Pony Grand National. The Big Bale Challenge sees 18 teams competing to push a large bale round an obstacle course. Sounds easy? It weighs over 250kg!

Village Green

Fire-breathing, marching bands, face painting, balloon art and performances. Pop into the Village Green bar for a pint.

Food Pavilion

Your chance to meet the growers, makers, brewers and bakers serving up the best of the Isle of Wight’s local produce.

Arts and crafts

Browse the stalls at the I Love Wight Makers’ Market for gorgeous homewares, jewellery, ceramics, skincare ranges, candles, prints and cards. Meet local artists and find out how they have developed their amazing talents.

Garden & Outdoor Living area

Get inspired by the Show Garden displays. It’s like a mini Chelsea Flower Show, each entrant has a 4m x 4m space to create their own garden paradise.

Woodland

Go on a woodland walk and have a go at traditional craftsmanship including hurdle making, charcoal making and spoon whittling.

Livestock area

It’s the livestock Olympics! Watch the sheep and cattle being judged, with cups ranging from Best in Class to Supreme Champions.

Equine events

Trot along for show jumping, horse showing, British Scurry and Carriage Trials, and don’t miss the fun pony club games.
