Blackgang Chine Announces Brand New Family Train Ride for 2026

Blackgang Chine Announces Brand New Family Train Ride for 2026

Former Robin Hill favourite, the Cows Express, is set for a magical Blackgang revival

Blackgang Chine, the UK’s oldest theme park, has announced. The exciting new attraction set to launch in 2026 reimagined with all the quirky charm and imagination the Isle of Wight attraction is famous for.

The ride will be familiar to fans of the Island’s sister park, Robin Hill, where it previously operated as the Cows Express. Now, the much-loved train has undergone a full refurbishment, has a new colourway and will have a whole new theme. Whilst details of that remain unknown, Blackgang Chine have exclusively confirmed to the Island Echo that it will be located behind the recently developed Blackgang Beach, offering visitors a scenic, nostalgic, and entirely unique journey.

Park Manager Dan White shared his excitement about the upcoming addition:

“We’re thrilled to bring this classic ride back to life in true Blackgang style. It’s always been a fan favourite, and we know our guests will be just as excited as we are to see it return — with a twist! Our brilliant new maintenance team is already hard at work on the transformation, and they’re pouring heart and soul into every detail. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we’re creating.”

Construction is already underway, and guests visiting the park this season may spot early signs of development taking shape. The build marks a major new investment in the park’s future and continues Blackgang’s commitment to blending heritage and innovation, creating experiences that surprise and delight every generation.

The yet-to-be-named train ride will feature a completely refreshed look and feel, combining whimsical design, interactive storytelling, and immersive scenery — all hallmarks of the park’s signature style. The announcement teaser video, along with graphic artwork show that the train is now a striking blue, which ties in perfectly with the Blackgang Beach.

Set to open in 2026, the attraction will add another exciting chapter to Blackgang Chine’s evolution.

With its clifftop views, eccentric charm, and history stretching back over 180 years, Blackgang Chine continues to capture imaginations — and the upcoming train ride promises to do just that for thousands of families next season and beyond.
