Your guide to a great festival

The time is nearly upon us where we all let our hair down and follow our favourite bands and artists to the stage – it’s festival season! The last few years have been difficult to say the least in the entertainment industry, with festivals being hit hard by the pandemic, but now we are able to enjoy them again, we thought we would put together a little guide as to what you need to have the best experience. We all know roughly what to expect, but now we have to think further afield and consider our carbon footprint too more than ever. Our festival checklist will hopefully help with those unanswered questions, or even give you inspiration…

Festival camping

At the end of the festival, make sure you take everything you brought or get rid of items you don’t want in the right manner. We ask that all festival attendees not leave behind any of their camping gear, as throwing away tents leads to landfill buildup that is very hard to get rid of. Take a water bottle – it all helps towards saving the planet.

Essentials

At the end of the day, you do not want to carry much on you – but the top things you need will be:

Festival ticket
Money / bank card (The queues for cash machines at festivals can waste hours of your day)
ID (Many festivals need your ID for various reasons, especially drinking)

Equipment

It goes without saying that you may need a few things to make your festival experience run smoothly. We suggest the following:

Tent – choose a bigger berth than the number of people camping, which will give you extra space for your bags. Going as a couple? Look at 3 berth tents to give you that extra room.
Sleeping bag
Wash bag
Torch
Folding chair – you do not want to be sitting on a wet blanket or worse, a boggy ground. This is without doubt a must.
Hand sanitiser
Biodegradable baby wipes
Rinse free body cleanser
Toilet roll
Phone and a charger / battery pack

Clothing

We all want to look good, right? Don’t forget to be prepared for ALL weathers – it could be the difference between a good time, or not so good!

Hoodie or fleece
Waterproof coat
Sun hat
Sun cream
Sun glasses
Bum bag
Wellies
Spare socks and pants
Ear plugs… because there will be someone partying into the early hours walking past your tent!

Extras

If space allows, you could always take a few extra items…

Microfibre towel (Ideal for wet days, and drys quickly)
Dry shampoo
Waggon / trolley
Glitter (of course!)
Apple Air tags – a great way to locate someone on your phone
