Waverley Park |
|
Waverley Park is within walking distance of mainland ferry connections, local bus routes and Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s favourite home. The internationally renowned yachting centre of Cowes with its many shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants is a comfortable stroll away via a chain ferry which is free for pedestrians. With its spectacular view over the Solent and its parkland setting, Waverley still feels off the beaten track. The Manor House, which dates from 1795, commands panoramic views of the many ships and leisure craft in the Solent and Cowes Harbour and is set in 12 acres of gentle sloping grounds surrounded by mature trees. The well maintained grounds have nature areas ensuring an abundance of red squirrels and other wildlife gaining Gold awards from both David Bellamy and Green Island. A gate at the foot of the park gives access to the unspoiled Esplanade, popular for fishing, sailing, crabbing and water sports. At Waverley you can enjoy your stay in one of our modern caravans or in our well appointed and comfortably furnished holiday flats. Parking is adjacent in most cases. You can visit with your own touring caravan, motor home or tent either on our generous level, terraced and fully serviced pitches or choose a grass pitch with or without full services. From late May until mid September the licensed club house with its sun terrace is open every evening for meals, bar and family activities or live music. The heated outdoor pool is open all day at this time of the year. Young and old alike are welcome to join in or simply relax on the terrace and watch the cruise ships sailing from Southampton and the magnificent Solent sunsets. The terrace overlooks the children’s play area and provides parents an ideal spot to watch their children playing safely. The games room and table tennis room are open during the summer season. |
