Shorwell is one of the Isle of Wight’s most picturesque villages, home to thatched cottages and historic houses. Shorwell was one of Queen Victoria’s favourite places to visit and today it retains a historic charm. Shorwell is 5 miles from Newport and is well connected, on a bus route and an ideal starting point for a stroll to the coast, picking up one of the main public footpaths that serve the village. It’s also a great place for a pub lunch and to take photos.
