A ‘must’ is a walk though Shanklin Chine, a natural wooded gorge, to the old village. Close by you will find The Fisherman’s Cottage for good food and drink or the Chine Inn, a small, cosy inn nestled in the Chine.
The long safe sandy beach of Shanklin has a stunning backdrop of Luccombe Cliffs and St Boniface Downs beyond. By the beach there are children’s amusements, pitch & putt and selection of pubs & cafes. Coastal paths make for scenic walking to neighbouring Sandown or to the pretty village of Bonchurch through the winding paths & onto Ventnor.
This popular resort town, as well as sporting a variety of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, benefits from a railway station, enabling you to leave your car behind and travel to Sandown and the holiday resort of Ryde with its white sandy beaches and attractions.
