Prince of Wales, East Cowes, Isle of Wight
The Prince of Wales is a traditional pub with a friendly and lively atmosphere. Being a ‘Freehouse’ we offer exceptional choice and value for money. We are located in York Avenue, East Cowes directly opposite the entrance to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s favourite home. With a large car park, on the main road from East Cowes to Ryde/Newport we are approximately a half mile from Red Funnel Car Ferry terminal. We are on the main bus route to and from East Cowes and there is a bus stop right outside.
The present owner, Wight Leisure Ltd has embarked on a programme of improvement, sympathetic renovation and restoration. Wight Leisure Ltd is a group of local people committed to maintaining a traditional pub with fair prices. In addition there will be provision of newly refurbished, quality en suite letting rooms. Pub games such as darts, pool and petanque are played while there is screening of Sky Sports and ESPN. Free Wi-Fi is available. There are regular music, karaoke and quiz nights. The bar is stocked with a wide range of lagers, real ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks. There is also tea and coffee (from the bean). Outside, apart from the historic courtyard there is a patio, pleasant garden and car park.
Prince of Wales kitchens are open providing a traditional menu of good, wholesome and fresh food sourced locally where possible. Meals are at fair prices (see our separate menu page) and there is a good value Sunday roast.
In the dining room there is facility to provide catering for functions such as weddings, christenings and wakes by arrangement. Coach parties are welcome, preferably by prior arrangement.]]>
