Great Changes at Isle of Wight Holiday Resort

Great Changes at Isle of Wight Holiday Resort

Well, today folks I took my camera and decided to go and grab some updated photo’s of Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight. This has been a popular and successful holiday resort for many years and is located on the eastern tip of the Island, in the lea of Bembridge Down, with what has to be one of my favourite beaches, Whitecliff Bay. Now it is about five years since I last visited the site, but today I decided I needed new photographs for my website www.isleofwight.com. All I can say is “Boy, was I in for a shock.”

To say that the resort has changed beyond all recognition is somewhat of an understatement after being purchased by Away Resorts. The level of investment has been considerable and they have created what has to be one of the best holiday destinations in the UK, with exceptional facilities and accommodation. On top of that, there is of course the stunning location and fantastic beach, making this a truly, family friendly resort.

The outdoor pool is truly stunning and it sits in a position where it can look out towards Whitecliff and the Bay. The Clubhouse adjoins the pool area, where food and drinks can be purchased in modern and very well presented surroundings. It also links the outside pool to the indoor pool, which has a kids splash pool and slide. All of the areas that I visited today were SPOTLESSLY clean, but the thing that stood out the most was the friendly and helpful attitude of the staff that I came across. All of them were keen to help and most importantly, seemed to really enjoy their work and wanted to engage with the customers – they really helped make everyone feel special.

Today I took my parents with me and we decided to venture down to the beach. The café has been refurbished and we sat there looking out to sea sipping on our coffee, taking in the view. Families were playing in the surf and it was great to sit there and just soak up the relaxing, holiday atmosphere. The guy that severed us our coffee came out and asked how we were and explained that food would be available later in the season, when renovation works were completed. I have to say, in this day and age, there are not many people that you come across that are genuinely enjoying there work and check that the customer is happy РWELL DONE.

Accommodation at Whitecliff Bay is varied and aimed at every pocket, from quality mobile homes, camping and touring pitches, lodges and of course the latest craze glamping. The other bonus is that Away Resorts offer the holiday maker the chance to purchase a holiday home on their site and the couple that I just happened to talk to whilst they were tending the flower pots on the decking, that neatly wrapped around two sides of their mobile home said, “they couldn’t be happier”.

FINALLY – I challenge you to find me a family friendly resort that offers a location or level of facilities that come close to Whitecliff Bay.
