DISCOVER THE HEART OF THE BEAUTIFUL ISLE OF WIGHT
Well, most people have heard of towns like Sandown, Shanklin, Ryde and Ventnor and indeed, many people have stayed in them over the years. However, how many have discovered the heart of the Island and enjoyed the many walks and trails that we have to offer.
The Island has miles of walks, cycle tracks and bridle ways across stunning Downland and through ancient woodland and this natural beauty can be experienced at first hand.
We have a walking section which highlights many of the greatest walks and will help you discover an Isle of Wight that you never knew existed. In addition, we have put together a selection of accommodation providers that can offer you superb places to stay.
Remember, Heaven IS a place on Earth – and it’s called the Isle of Wight.
Ivy Hall is on the Isle of Wight coastal path and main bus route and is half way between Ryde and Newport making it a perfect base for exploring the Islands many attractions. Only 1 mile from the Wightlink car ferry terminal at Fishbourne and 3 miles from the Red Funnel ferry terminal at East Cowes making us easy to get to by car or bus.
Accommodation: Offering large comfortable bedrooms with digital TV, tea and coffee facilities and en-suite shower/bath. The house is both centrally heated and double glazed for our guest comfort and we have a good supply of books and games available to keep the whole family amused when not out exploring the Island.
OH WOW – These are fantastic country cottages located on a beautiful working farm. Miles of rural and breathtaking walks are literally on your door step and the quiet and extremely peaceful location will help you to unwind and relax.
An ideal base for you to explore the our beautiful Island Newbarn lies in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the south of the small hamlet of Gatcombe in a secluded valley below the wooded slopes of the chalk downs which form the backbone of the island. Although consisting of only a handful of cottages, Gatcombe once had its own school and watermill (now derelict) and still has a fine 13th century church, originally the private chapel of the Lord of the manor Gatcombe. Sheltered by the woods of Gatcombe Park the church has benefited from many alterations over the centuries, so little of the original remains apart from the front and some intriguing legends.
