Willow Cottage

This quaint and cosy barn conversion is an ideal retreat for a couple or small family, sleeping up to three in one bedroom. A semi detached conversion of an 18th Century barn, this cottage lies in the small hamlet of Yafford, in the south of the lovely Isle of Wight, and makes a superb romantic base.

There is character throughout the cottage, with unusual exposed stone walls, wooden flooring and exposed beams, while the actual accommodation is well-equipped, comfortable and set in the grounds of the owner's farmhouse.

The bedroom has a 5' double bed and also an option folding single, suitable for a younger child. There is also a small, private garden to the property.

Beaches at Atherfield and Ventnor are within easy reach, as is cycling, walking, Blackgang Chine and picturesque Brighstone village.

The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker’s paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

Yafford is a hamlet at the southern end of the Isle of Wight, which is well known for its watermill, dating from the 18th Century. Yafford makes a great spot for birdwatchers and walkers, and the 'Round the Island' cycle route, on which Yafford is a stop, makes the hamlet popular with cyclists too.

For beach bunnies, the sands at Atherfield are a mile away, and Ventnor is close by too, as is the family attraction Blackgang Chine, while the lovely Shanklin Chine and popular resorts of Ryde and Sandown are just over the other side of the Island (easily reached in under an hour).

The village of Brighstone is 2 miles away, and Brighstone Bay is also just down the road.

Visitor Comments

A cosy cottage in a lovely setting. The owners were very friendly and helpful. A quiet area but never far from amenities. The cottage facilities are very good, stylish conversion, plenty of space for two and ideal if you have a pet.

We found Willow Cottage a haven which gave us a sense of country well-being, we were able to chill and relax immediately. The rooks nesting was a beautiful sight to see from the bedroom window! A lovely break, we would love to return one day soon. Thank you.
