About Isle of Wight Studio Glass

Many of the richly coloured designs are produced using 22ct Gold and Sterling silver leaf, a groundbreaking hallmark process, first used by the studio in 1978 and since then has won many major awards.
In addition to the catalogued collections, Limited Editions and `one-off' pieces are designed and produced at the studio by International glassmaker Timothy Harris. Many using techniques such as multi-layered `casing', Cameo and`Graal', the ancient Nordic term for 'The Holy Grail', which demands tremendous artistic and technical skill.
Isle of Wight Studio Glass is exported worldwide and can be found in many private and public collections.

The studio was converted from ancient farm buildings, on the famed and beautiful south facing coast of the Isle of Wight just below St.Lawrence Undercliff. The magnificent coastline and landscape surrounding the studio has inspired the development of the highly successful collections.

In Pursuit of excellence

Each piece of Isle of Wight Studio Glass is hand crafted in our studio. Our extended family of glassmakers strive for perfection of shape, form and colour with every piece of glass they create. The glassmakers are trained to 'feel' and 'control' the material with which they work to produce shapes and forms of the highest quality.

Over the past three decades our glassmakers have honed their skills with each new collection ensuring new technical and aesthetic challenges are conquered. Today they represent one of the finest glassmaking teams in Europe and beyond.

Following in the pioneering footsteps of his father Michael Harris, Timothy Harris, with the support of his team of glassmakers continue the family motto - 'In Pursuit of Excellence' and the work ethic statement by the founder that "Our best work will be done tomorrow".
