About Us


The Somerton Lodge is a beautiful Victorian Hotel set within the idyllic backdrop of a leafy tree lined avenue. The Hotel is situated just a few hundred yards from Shanklin Old Village, the Chine, the town centre and the cliff lift down to the Esplanade. Far enough away to sit peacefully in its beautiful gardens yet only a short walk to everything Shanklin has to offer.


A warm welcome awaits you as our friendly staff aim to ensure that your stay with us is everything you wish for and deserve, a truly memorable stay, one you will want to repeat. The Hotel boasts 18 bedrooms, 5 of which are conveniently situated on the ground floor. All bedrooms are centrally heated and offer en-suite shower rooms, colour television, hospitality tray and hair dryers. The Hotel also boasts a large car park at the rear of the Hotel.


All communal rooms are tastefully decorated and sympathetic to the Victorian heritage of the hotel. The large spacious non-smoking dining room is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty Somerton Lodge breakfast or a quiet candlelit five course evening meal. Why not enjoy a drink from our well stocked spacious bar or just relax in the peace and tranquility of the non-smoking dry lounge. The spacious beautiful south facing gardens are a lovely place to enjoy the morning sun over a cup of tea or you may wish to relax and read a paper on the sun terrace.

The Hotel caters for all guests with disabilities, all ground floor rooms including bar, tv lounge and restaurant are wheelchair accessible.
