Pond Cottage

Sleeping up to five in two lovely bedrooms, this attractive cottage is semi detached and is set beside a large pond. To the south of the Isle of Wight sits Yafford, and within this peaceful hamlet lies Pond Cottage, in the grounds of the owner's farmhouse and just a mile from the sea.

The cottage is set next to an attractive large pond, and has been converted from an 18th Century barn, retaining much character including exposed beams and trusses, wooden floors and stone walls.

The well-equipped kitchen has a dining area, the sitting room is cosy and comfortable and the bedrooms, one double and one twin with an additional folding bed, are set up in the eaves.

There is cycling, walking and birdwatching nearby, or simply relax in the private garden. Heating from free standing electric convector heaters throughout.

The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker’s paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

To the south of the lovely Isle of Wight is the hamlet of Yafford, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a great place for birdwatchers or walkers to make their base for a holiday.

Cyclists are well catered for with the 'Round the Island' cycle route which runs through Yafford itself.

There are beaches within easy reach, such as Atherfield or Ventnor, while Blackgang and Shanklin Chine, pretty Brighstone village, the resorts of Sandown or Ryde and indeed most of this terrific Island can be reached in less than an hour by car.

Visitors Comments

Beautifully decorated cottage with unusually large communal space. Proprietors very welcoming to people and dog without being intrusive. Location of cottage very rural with no through traffic, ideal for children and dogs. We are planning to stay at Pond Cottage again in the future and would highly recommend it to our friends.

Peaceful, pleasant surroundings. Pond Cottage is definitely the place to unwind and the owner was very friendly.

Warm welcome but owner did not obtrude herself. She made it clear that we had but to ask for anything. Position on IoW perfect for our needs
