About us

Phil and Gill Vale have owned and run the Overstrand for 33 years, personally ensuring that guests enjoy their stay and get the holiday or short break they deserve.

Their beautiful property offers every modern day comfort, yet they have retained the charm and gracious presence of this unique property.

Standing in an imposing position, surveying the whole of Sandown Bay with the English Channel beyond, you will even be able to see the south coast of the mainland on a clear day. The 3 acres of land that the Overstrand stands in are carefully looked after and will provide you with a tranquil place to unwind, or somewhere to play games with the children.

One thing is for sure, if you are choosing a place to stay, nowhere comes close to The Overstrand.

The Overstrand has 3 acres of grounds offering numerous facilities for the enjoyment of our guests. There is an equipped play area for children with a trampoline etc, a grass tennis court, a nine hole pitch ‘n’ putt and even Petanque for you to try. Within our spacious grounds are extensive lawns and a lovely heated swimming pool 40ft x 18ft with surrounding sun terrace and palms.

The Bar
Our well stocked bar, which opens out onto our gardens gives guests the chance to relax in the shade of our Lime trees whilst taking in the views and the surroundings.

The Rooms
All of our individual bedrooms offer en-suite facilities, colour TV and tea and coffee making facilities and The Overstrand is centrally heated for those out of season breaks. During the winter months we are available for group bookings.

Dining with us
Our gracious dining room overlooks our gardens and affords sea views. There is an excellent breakfast menu which includes a continental breakfast, full English breakfast, kipper fillets, toast and freshly brewed coffee.

Packed lunches are available for guests, subject to prior arrangement.
