Already one of the most popular hotels on the Island, the Wight’s enthusiastic management has not only retained the many guests who return year after year but have also introduced the innovations and amenities which are fast securing a reputation as the place to take a holiday or short break.Set in secluded grounds of 2 acres – thus avoiding night time noise from the High Street and Esplanade – the hotel is just 2 minutes stroll (170 yards) from the beach and the same to the start of the High Street shops. | |
 | All 41 Bedrooms, half of which are on the ground floor, are en-suite and all are equipped with colour TV, hairdryer, hospitality tray, digital safe and Wifi access. The grounds have been put to good use to give guests so much in the way of amenities – in good or bad weather! Obviously the mandatory free car park – plus a decent sized indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, solarium, games room, dedicated snooker room and a sun terrace. Add to these a pleasant bar with regular entertainment and enhance with what is probably the best breakfast on the Island, varied dinner menus and efficient but friendly service. Then quite simply you have found the right hotel – it’s called the Wight! |
| The Wight is open throughout the year –So why not take advantage of our greatly reduced out of season pricing and join us for a Winter break? Whilst the Island benefits from it’s own micro-climate and more than it’s fair share of sunshine hours we cannot guarantee the weather – but we can guarantee great value, a warm hotel, a swimming pool (and pool hall) kept at a tropical 85F (30C) and, most importantly, the warmest of warm welcomes! | |
 | Guests enjoying their first winter break on the Island are usually surprised at just how much there is to do and that the Wight can sometimes be fully booked – even in January! After the run up to Christmas (Turkey & Tinsel time) the Wight takes advantage of the dark evenings with Diner by Candlelight most winter weekends. We also promote (at special rates) a Safari Weekend (Alligator, Ostrich, Wild Boar etc. on the menu) and a Garlic Weekend (no explanation needed!) |

 | Dive - Our link with Aquarius Diving, the Island’s 5 Star Padi Diving Centre, enables us to offer residential courses from Beginner to Instructor level with both shore and boat diving. The pool elements of their courses are held right here in the hotel – so it could not be easier for the Wight’s guests to try for themselves – just ask after a session, it’s free of charge! Children as young as 8 years of age can take the Bubblemaker course for just £25.00! | | | Fly - The Wight has it’s own Cessna 172 and is just minutes from both Sandown and Bembridge airfields. Our link with Bernie Air Services gives guests access to a stable of two Cessna 172’s (one of which is reserved for pleasure flights during the summer), a Piper PA28 and a concours winning N3N biplane. Tui-tion is available from a trial lesson right through to IMC rating (our Cessna is “full airways”) and both the Cessna and the Piper are available for hire to PPL holders. | | Golf - Come and Drive the Wight. The Island has 7 clubs and arguably the most attractive courses are the Shanklin & Sandown (about a mile from the hotel) and the Freshwater Bay. We can arrange for our guests to play these courses or alternatively the Westridge Golf Centre (on the road towards Ryde) is the Island’s only “Pay as you Play” course with a very good shop and some modern teaching technology. | |
