The Museum |
The Isle of Wight Military History Museum stands amongst the 15 acre site originally a WW11 Barracks. We house a great collection of over 30 WW11 and post war tanks, Many of which are running and take part in our summer moving tank displays. We also have armoured cars, a Saracen and 432, which take part in our displays, there is an opportunity to have rides in a T54 tank and both of our Armoured cars at an extra cost. We can offer guided tours from 'Ginge' and 'Ernie' with both of them having years of knowledge behind them you will leave the museum knowing everything there is to know about our tanks, guns and armored cars and some of the stories behind them!! We have a Restoration workshop, and having some of the best men in the business, you can view the restoration process, we have even have a program called 'Tank Overhaul' made by a film company showing some of the mind blowing things that we have actually managed to do here. There is also a gift shop catering for all ages, models, military toys, and lots of toys for little girls too, a selection of souvenirs is also available. Refreshments are available where you can enjoy a hot or cold drink or snack |
