Malmesbury Cottage

Malmesbury Cottage is a delightful period cottage constructed in 1870 of Island stone excavated from the, now closed, Wroxall to Ventnor railway tunnel. Situated on the outskirts of Wroxall, an “Islander’s village” near Ventnor, Isle of Wight. It has been sympathetically and tastefully restored to a high standard throughout, and includes double glazing and gas central heating for modern day comfort. Former cottage occupants include TV celebrity Les Dennis.

The accommodation comprises:

Large oak fitted kitchen/dining room/family area with oak laminate flooring and multi-fuel wood burning stove, walk-in pantry with fridge/freezer and microwave. There is a separate utility area containing a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Separate lounge with a feature cast iron fireplace. Wide screen TV/DVD/Video player and a CD/radio HiFi system.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms, in the master bedroom there is a superb four poster bed. The second bedroom contains two full size single beds, also a TV/DVD player.

The large bathroom has both a bath and shower. There is an additional outside wc adjacent to the back door. Please see picture gallery.

Outside there is off road parking for several cars, lawned gardens to both the front and rear and superb countryside views across farmland to St Martins down.

An excellent local pub and restaurant is literally 40 yards away, also close by is the local convenience store.
