About Little Melville

Little Melville is a self contained annexe of a Grand Victorian Villa, called Melville Lodge, built in 1876 of Island stone.
Situated in beautiful Victorian Ventnor’s most attractive and panoramic areas, 5-10 minutes walk to the esplanade, beach, shops, pubs and restaurants which includes the Spyglass Inn, overlooking the sea.

Opposite is pretty Ventnor park with it’s putting green, stream and bandstand. A gentle walk through the park leads to the cliffs, with panoramic walks left to Ventnor beach and onto Bonchurch, or right to quaint Steephill Cove with it’s pretty beach and café and onto the Botanical Gardens, which due to Ventnor’s warm and sunny micro-climate, is famous for it’s exotic plants and is well worth a visit.

For walkers there are also cliff walks all the way to Niton and St. Katherine’s point and beyond. Also Ventnor Downs is at the back of the town connecting to St. Boniface Downs with magnificent views, it reminds us of the New Forest.
