If you’re looking for a relaxed and friendly rural retreat from which to enjoy the beautiful Isle of Wight countryside, then High Pines B&B is for you.
Adgestone is on the southeast of the island close to the village of Brading and about 2 miles from Sandown seafront. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with lovely woodland walks and some of the most spectacular views on the island, such as Culver Down. There is a wildlife hide a few minutes walk away where you can watch red squirrels, woodpeckers and other birds.
Easy access to bridleways, footpaths and cycle paths make this an ideal location for walkers and cyclists. Alternatively, relax on the nearby sandy beaches or visit the many local attractions such as the Steam Railway, Roman Villa, Garlic Farm and Adgestone Vineyard. Sandown and Shanklin Golf Club with its challenging County Championship course is a short distance away.
The nearly villages of Brading and Newchurch both have pubs serving excellent food. Numerous first class restaurants are also within easy reach.
We hope that you will have a relaxing and comfortable stay. Our two large guest rooms are both triple aspect with plenty of natural light and views across the south-facing garden and fields beyond.
The comfortable beds are made up with duvets and soft pillows, all with a hypoallergenic filling.
Both rooms have a comfy settee and easy chair, a small wardrobe, chest of drawers and breakfast table. Ceiling lights are dimmable and there is a bedside lamp and standard lamp for a more ambient mood.
There is a powerful shower in the bathroom within the king size room and bath with shower in the twin/super-king bathroom. You will also find soft towels, face cloths, bathrobes, slippers and environmentally-friendly toiletries, some of which are made locally.
There is a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player, wireless internet access, i-Pod dock, alarm clock, hair drier, makeup mirror, iron and board.
The silent mini-fridge contains mineral water, filtered tap water and fresh milk. You may wish to bring your own wine or Champagne to chill.
On the drinks tray you'll find a variety of teas, instant and filter coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and some chocolates.
We serve breakfast in your room, alternatively on the patio or in the summerhouse if you prefer to enjoy the morning sun. We love our food at High Pines and use sausages and bacon from local butchers and eggs from our own hens cooked as you like them (local free-range are used when they are not laying or if you would prefer them). If you fancy a change from the traditional English breakfast, why not try smoked haddock with a poached egg or scrambled egg with smoked salmon? We cater for gluten-free (coeliac), vegetarian or other special dietary requirements if you let us know when you book.
