About Us

Erected in 1857, The Fernbank Hotel was originally a luxury Victorian villa and only became an hotel in 1949.

As an intimate, smaller hotel (we have 19 beautifully decorated and well equipped rooms), we endeavour to offer the very best service and standards to our guests - always seeking to go that little bit further, as we believe small touches can make all the difference, thus making your holiday that bit more memorable.

The Rooms
We take great pride in our rooms, believing a high quality base to be an essential element in the perfect holiday.

All rooms are comfortably fitted and spotlessly clean with crisp cotton bed linen.

There is a choice of accommodation ranging from superior rooms, family rooms, double rooms, twin and single occupancy rooms. All rooms are en suite, and are tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable.

All rooms have colour television, clock-radios, hairdryers, central heating, tea / coffee-making facilities, direct dial telephones with Internet access point and a few extra touches that make all the difference. Deluxe superior rooms have satellite TV.

Restaurant & Bar
You are assured of a warm welcome when you dine at the restaurant and bar at The Fernbank Hotel. Situated on the edge of Shanklin's 'Old Village', you’ll find the views from the restaurant's vast windows as appealing as our first class menu and wine list.

Whether it’s aperitifs at our bar, coffee in our landscaped garden, a relaxed lunch or a memorable evening out, we have something for everyone.

Spa Facilities

With so much delicious food, it is always a good idea to burn off a few calories: the hotel's heated pool is an ideal place to do this and is open from Easter to December . Following your swim, why not enjoy catching up with that day's paper around the pool's edge. For the ultimate in relaxation, the Jacuzzi hot tub‡† and sauna‡† are adjacent to the pool room. By prior arrangement, aromatherapy massage is also available
