Chestnut Mews is a small complex of 4 privatley owned self-catering holiday cottages. They are located close to the Famous Old Village in Shanklin, tucked away from the main road, nestling within a delightful sylvan setting with half an acre of sheltered, secluded gardens offering a peaceful and relaxing base with which to explore the alluring Isle of Wight.
While you are here, why not give the car a rest!
The cottages are ideally situated for exploring stunning coastal and country walks either on foot or by bike, some of which begin at the end of our driveway. Secure cycle storage is available.
The cliff path and steps leading to the lovely sandy Appley Beach is approximately 10 minutes walk through Rhylstone Gardens with its crazy golf, café and band stand. |
A short stroll will bring you to the heart of the famous Old Village with its picturesque thatched cottage tea rooms, gift shops, pubs and restaurants.
The many amenities of the busy seaside town of Shanklin are within easy wallking distance, as is the bus route and the seasonal road train (which goes from the Old Village to the Esplanade). My cottages offer non smoking, spacious accomodation, fully equipped to a very high standard.
Children of all ages are very welcome and there is a Little Tykes play area and wendy house in the garden.
Guests have use of the nearby leisure facilities at the Upper Chine complex, including indoor and outdoor pools. ( small charge payable) A warm welcome awaits you , I very much hope you will consider us to be your home away from home.
Honeysuckle and Clematis Cottages are under the personal supervision of the owner Ms. Carol Bowkis.
