About Us

A warm welcome awaits you at our family run Chale Bay Farm, where the emphasis is on providing home from home comfort. The AA have awarded Chale Bay Farm 5 diamonds, their highest and much coveted top award.

Situated on the Isle of Wight's National Trust Heritage Coastline, commanding uninterrupted sea views of the Needles and Tennyson Downs, Chale Bay Farm provides an idyllic and tranquil setting.

We envisage Chale Bay Farm as a special place where our guests are free from their daily routine and chores and are able to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful countryside surroundings.

It is our desire that all our guests will immerse themselves in our special part of the world and return home having had the experience they deserve, looking forward to their next return visit to the Isle of Wight.

Our en-suite bedrooms have king-size beds and colour televisions, plus tea and coffee making facilities. All bathrooms have hairdryers and have been designed and equipped to a very high standard.

A Floodlit Japanese style water garden provides a central focal point for all our rooms, which surround our courtyard.

In addition, we have two family suites, which are built on two levels and are situated on adjacent sides of the farm. One overlooks the Needles, the white cliffs of Freshwater Bay and boasts spectacular sea views and sunsets, whilst the other suite captures the natural beauty of St. Catherine's Down.

In the morning, enjoy Jean's superb hearty breakfast before setting off to explore the Isle of Wight.

Chale Bay Farm is located on the Isle of Wight's famous 'Military Road' on the South West Coast.

On the hilltop overlooking the house is the ancient lighthouse, The Pepperpot. Stretching out along the ridge is an excellent walk to the historic and recently restored Hoy Monument.

Superb views of the coastline and over the western side of the Isle of Wight makes this a regular walk for our visitors.

Add a variety of wildlife, beaches and local attractions, such as the Dinosaur Farm, Brighstone Forest and Blackgang Chine, the Island's most popular theme park, which is only ten minutes walk away, and you have a special place to stay whilst exploring the Isle of Wight.

On the opposite side of the road of the Farm and within five minutes walk, is the renowned Wight Mouse Inn, which is open all day, every day and has an excellent children's garden and indoor play area called "Mouseworld"

For those who seek a more active pastime we can organise:
- Freshwater fishing
- Sea fishing
- Golf
- Horse Riding
- Clay Pigeon shooting
- Dinosaur fossil hunting
- Mountain Biking
- Paragliding - lessons for beginners or longer 'tandem' flights with experienced flyers.

Under your own steam you can take off for beautiful, long coastal path walks heading toward Freshwater Bay and the Needles
