The Bedford Lodge is ideally situated in the beautiful Old Village of Shanklin and is set in its own south facing,
private gardens with sloping lawns, mature trees, flowering bushes and a sun terrace with views towards the Downs
...a perfect setting to watch the world go by.




The Old Village offers a variety of places to eat and drink from thatched Tea Rooms,
a couple of Coaching Inns dating from the 17th Century,
cosy Bistros to stylish Restaurants and even a traditional Fish & Chip Shop.

Relaxed Atmosphere...
A leisurely breakfast is served until 10am and the licensed bar is open throughout the day and evening, offering a selection of alcoholic, soft and hot drinks which can be served in the sun lounge or outside on the terrace.

We do not however, cater for evening meals.

A selection of cerials, fruit, toast, drinks and a freshly cooked breakfast will satisfy the appetite of any carnivore, vergetarian, healthy or unhealthy guest!

Comfortable Rooms...
All of the twelve en-suite bedrooms are located on either the ground floor (some with direct access to the garden), first or second floors, and are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, central heating, colour television and duvets. Travel...
The guest house has its own car park and we are able to arrange car ferry crossings from Portsmouth to Fishbourne, Southampton to East Cowes and Lymington to Yarmouth.

For rail and foot passengers, Wightlink offer a fast catamaran - \'The Fast Cat\' - from Portsmouth Harbour. This connects to the Island Line train, with a direct service to Shanklin.
