The seaside resort of Ryde, 10 minutes’ drive, has a long esplanade with plenty of attractions, six miles of glorious sandy beach with children’s play area, ten pin bowling, indoor pool, ice rink, a high speed catamaran operating between Portsmouth and the pier head, local pubs, restaurants, riding, golf, sailing, fishing and go-karting.
